Peony

I have a peony by my front door which comes into flower at the end of May each year. It may presage summer, but it also tends to presage a burst of heavy rain and/or strong winds which smash the blooms to bits.
One odd thing about it is that the flowers can be a variety of colours from one year to the next (and even within the same season).
They can be a pinkish white (as seen above)...
