Tap, Tap...Is This Thing On?
Still here.
I realise that there has been a bit of a gap since the last entry anywhere on the site. The longest gap between posts for well over two years, in fact.
It's not as if I have nothing to say; it's just that there doesn't seem to be much point in trying to say it. Even though things in the world are quite clearly continuing to go to shit - mostly involving those who rule our lives continuing to abuse their positions for their own benefit - blog posts railing against it seem to be the equivalent of throwing marshmallows at an advancing tank.
Besides which, others may already have said what I would have said, but said it rather better.
So, on the subject of ridiculous faith-heads such as Sayeeda Warsi and George Carey complaining about how terribly marginalised and oppressed they are, see here; for an analysis of what the unelected Régime may really be trying to do with their unemployment policies, see this (both of them from the estimable Flying Rodent); and for the campaign (becoming surprisingly successful at the moment) to stop large, wealthy corporations and alleged 'charities' being able to use people for menial work at no cost to themselves (but at considerable cost to the public, and to those forced by threat of sanction to undergo it), see the excellent Boycott Workfare site.
Given that I am now near the first anniversary of my being an official depressive, there may be something about that in the next few days. Some other semblances of 'normal' blogging may also emerge, but no promises.
