The Judge RANTS!
What with what may be burnout after the tedious end-of-year piece, my going back on full working hours at the pickle factory, and a general lassitude which may be to do with the time of the year, I don't seem to be able to get anywhere with anything at the moment.
I'm stuck in the middle of two pieces: one a review of one of my favourite novels; the other a cri-de-bile-duct regarding current events on both sides of the water. I don't seem to have the drive to finish either of them (coupled with the fact that I don't seem to be able to type at speed with any degree of accuracy right now).
On top of which, I had some radical dental treatment this afternoon (yes, another one evicted to join the tooth I had out this time last year). The anaesthetic has all but worn off now (2000 hours) and I'm going to risk eating (a Sainsbury's scallop and king prawn risotto; should be sufficiently mushy).
I've got a long weekend to follow, though. I'm hoping that that will recharge me a bit.
