Pump Up The Volume (Two)
Well, it's here at last.
Judgements Volume Two was intended to be published in about October of 2024, but other matters intervened to leave me with either neither the strength nor the inclination to complete the task which I had started at the beginning of that year.
Selecting a further batch of navel fluff for inclusion in something that I was going to offer my public in exchange for actual money presented me with something of a problem, in that I felt that I had given the best of it in Volume One, and that what was included this time was likely to be perceived - not least by myself - as being somewhat second division.
Nonetheless, I managed to find forty pieces (a nice round number, but achieved by accident rather than design) which would, I felt, pass muster. I also added an Introduction and a few additional notes which help put the pieces into their proper context some years after the events described.
The 'production phase' duly proceeded, which required me to dredge up from the becobwebbed cellars of my mind all the knowledge and experience I had gained from the first book. This was also the case in spades when I came to do the e-book version, where the mismatch between what should have been valid code and what actually was valid become apparent yet again.
Still and all, I wrangled both media into shape after long periods between autumn and late winter where I was in no mood to face the task.
But, finally, here it is (or, rather, there it is).
SO what will you find within? Well, there seems to be more specifically autobiographical pieces, but in addition you may find the answers to such thorny issues as the significance of a roadside rock, the malign vibes of inanimate objects and what constitutes the Platonic Ideal of a sandwich, and what exactly is an 'interim chicken'. There are also inter alia extended essays on politics, society and football.
So there you have it, and all at a fairly reasonable price.
Happy reading!
