- the realisation that the best revenge you can have on Nazis is to render them ridiculous
- making ground-breaking (and wind-breaking) movies
- producing The Elephant Man, and insisting it be shot in black-and-white
- Spaceballs, a film which sends up the late-70s/early-80s sci-fi blockbusters so sharply and precisely that you can't watch the originals without wanting to quote from it
- all this and being a born performer
